Postdoctoral Research Position on Pervasive Sensing Systems

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 3 years (1 year, extendable)

We are looking for a self-motivated postdoctoral researcher in the area of pervasive communications and mobile sensing. The position is open to join the Distributed and Pervasive Systems Group (https://dps.cs.ut.ee) at the University of Tartu, Estonia. Responsibilities and duties of the position include conducting research, supervise students, and teach seminar and courses.

The position is open within the framework of the Estonian Academy Project entitled “Foundations of Autonomous Unmanned Vehicles for Pervasive Sensing”. The project is to be conducted in collaboration with partners from Finland, Hong Kong and China. Thus, interested candidates must have desirability to travel to those locations for periods of time.

Required qualifications: Candidates should have been awarded a PhD (or be very close to submitting), and a good publication track record on distributed systems and pervasive computing . The ideal candidates should also have good mathematical, communication (oral and writing) and programming skills. Experience in proposal writing is also desirable.

PhD students

PhD Studentships x3 (Fixed Term)

Fixed-term: The funds for these posts are available for 4 years.

The Distributed and Pervasive Systems Group at the University of Tartu in Estonia, is inviting applications for up to three funded PhD studentships, beginning in January 2020.

These openings are suitable for candidates with a Masters degree in computer science or a related discipline. We welcome applications across a broad range of areas covered by mobile and wearable computing, pervasive computing, pervasive data science, and distributed systems.

Required qualifications: Candidates must meet all prerequisites for admission to the PhD in Computer Science at the University of Tartu. For further details, please refer to: https://www.ut.ee/en/phd-computer-science.
